Natural Order: Placement / Positioning

The desire to understand fate has always been a driving force of religions, sciences, philosophy, and the arts. Why and how do we end up where we are? Comprehending the reasons for the fortune of some and the misery of others is like trying to encapsulate the vastness of the universe in the limited mind’s eye. When attempting to conceptualize this aspect of humanity, all of existence flattens out for me into one visual plane, like the composition of a Persian or Medieval landscape.

The foreground is given the same emphasis in perspective as the farthest-reaching objects.

Each person exists equally but does not live equitably.

Far from trying to answer this eternal question of global providence,

I simply aim to flatten it out and stretch it over the wall.
